A New Venture

Most of you know that I like to bake. My most popular items are birthday cakes and cut out cookies. I have sent out an email to some local friends and neighbors letting them know about the things I can make. We'll see what happens. I have called my email and website Cindy's Bake Shop. I am also signed up for a Wilton cake decorating class at Michael's in Rock Hill to fine tune my skills. It starts tonight and lasts four weeks, one night a week. This is the first of three courses they offer. Eventually, I wouldn't mind getting a degree or certificate in baking and pastry arts, but I'm going to start here and feel it all out. 

SNOW!

My kids were so pumped when they saw snow on our drive to Michigan for Christmas! At an Ohio rest stop they had to step in and touch it. It was cute. The day after we arrived at my parent's house they wanted to go out and play right away. They have no boots, but I let them go anyway.

Josh fell within the first minute and would not get up. He just screamed. I was in my slippers in the drive way taking pictures so I wouldn't go fetch him from the snow drift. Lizzie wouldn't help either. :-)Tim came to get him. Josh was done after that. He said "go inside!". If you ask him about it, he still says "I fall in snow, I crying". 

Lizzie and Ben wanted to make a snowman that day, but being in my slippers, I was a party pooper and didn't want to help. They played a bit more and came in with cold bodies and red ankles and wrists. They had fun and got to drink hot chocolate!

A couple days later, my brother was over and he helped them make snowmen. Notice he isn't wearing a coat or gloves. Only Chris! He is luckily very strong and could lift the large snow balls they made.

They made a whole family of snowmen and ladies in the front yard. They were cute. Two days later, when things began to melt, the snow people started shriveling down like the Wicked Witch of the West.

We made it to the New Year!

We did survive Christmas and New Year. I have been a slacker when it comes to blogging!!
I am on Tim's laptop right now, so I can update with a letter today. Hopefully pictures will soon follow.

We did survive Christmas and New Year.
I have been a slacker when it comes to blogging!! I am on Tim's laptop right now, so I can update with a letter today. Hopefully pictures will soon follow.

We went to MI on 12/21 and stayed with my parents 4 nights and then went to Tim's parents for 4 nights. There was snow there when we arrived. The kids were so pumped! They wanted to play in it. Against all smart bones in my body, I let them a couple times. They had no boots, just hats, gloves and coats. They were soaked and frozen when they came in, but sure had fun! Josh didn't like it so much. He tried to walk where it was deep and fell down on his hands and knees. He cried and came in after just a couple minutes. :-) Josh did enjoy watching the Celine Dion "A New Day" dvd on my dad's large screen TV and stereo system! It's his new favorite show. He knows lots of the moves and is funny to watch!!
Back to snow-Lizzie and Ben stayed out for a bit. They wanted me to make a snowman. I was outside video taping them, but had only slippers on my feet and no coat so I declined. The next day my brother came he helped them make a family of snowmen. It looked cute, there were 6-10 in the front yard. Two days later, they started to melt. It was funny, they kind of shriveled and shrank down like the Wicked Witch of the West.
I got to make some cookies with my sister. I also completed a sewing project. I was making dance dresses for my neices as a favor to my mom. I sewed one before we went, but finished the other4 and a half in MI. The half was for baby Evelyn. I made her a little elastic waist skirt with the sparkly pink fabric. I have a picture of them I think.
Tim did work on the computer with my dad and watched a movie or two. We watched a funny one called "Guess Who". The one with Ashton Kucher?... where a white guy has a black girlfriend. He goes to meet her family and she hasn't told them he is white. It's funny and doesn't have lots of bad language.
Tim also helped his dad with a couple video and audio projects. They hung his parent's new flat panel HDTV. Tim got to live vicariously through them for a bit.

Over all the kids loved playing with their cousins. All 8 girls- 3 on Tim's side and 5 on mine. :-)
Josh didn't feel well a lot of the time and was like a leach on me and even more grumpy and "2" than normal, but we survived. The drive went well. Lizzie and Ben do great! Josh screams some still. He was mostly happy if he got to pick the show they watched.
We have put all the new toys and clothes away for the most part. We are glad to be home, but miss everyone at the same time. Many of you know how that is.

In response to Jen Wade's resolution email... I tend to stay away from resolutions too. I don't think I've ever kept one or even made a real one. I do want to exercise more and take care of my body. I like her thoughts on grace more I think. My kids need it from me too!
