| Mother's Day |
Anyway, the kids have done really well this year. To think at the beginning of the school year in August, Tim and I knew we would be traveling to Ecuador sometime soon, but we didn't have dates yet... We have come a long way.
Lizzie will graduate from 5th grade and head to Middle School next year. sniff sniff
She has been on the A honor roll for her entire elementary career. :) She has been in a running club at school and also played Volleyball, T-ball, Basketball and Soccer through Victory Sports. She loves reading and art and is growing up way to fast into a great young lady.
Ben is finishing 4th grade. He will be at the "top of the school" next year. Ben has been on A honor roll too. With Lizzie in Middle School, he will be in charge of himself, Josh and Mia on the walk home from school next year. I will pray that he makes good choices and that they get home on time. When he has led this year, they are usually late from dilly-dallying while walking. :)
Ben had an orthodontic visit a couple weeks ago and they recommended that he get a couple baby teeth pulled to help facilitate some of his adult teeth grow in. He had his 2 teeth pulled today and did really well. He didn't want any laughing gas, just novacaine. He wanted all the details we could tell him. That's my Ben, wanting as much information as possible.
Ben is having a great time playing Flag Football with Victory Sports. He is a great wide receiver!
Josh is finishing 2nd grade. He is still a funny, passionate and full of life guy. He does well in school, but isn't fond of homework- too much repetition. He is learning to be a big brother now that we have Mia. He is a whole 2 months older than her. :) Josh loves having a job to do. He has been very helpful to his teacher this year by helping her clean and put up chairs every day without her asking. He is doing well with his spacer in his mouth. We went for a check up in early May and he has to have it in a bit longer. We go back in July. Josh is playing Flag Football on the same team and Ben and really likes it too. Josh is a good wide receiver and also good at defense.
Mia is finishing 1st grade. She has learned so much since she started school in November. Her English vocabulary is growing everyday, she is learning to read too. She is almost at the 'end of first grade reading level'. She didn't read much in Ecuador, so this is huge for her. She goes to ESL twice a day and will go once a day next school year. Mia is getting better at handling the routine and structure at school. We are still working on some impulsiveness at school and at home. Overall, she is doing great! Mia will take swimming lessons in June and may go to a reading tutor over the Summer.
We are still having some sibling issues with regards to our adoption, so please keep praying for that. Pray for wisdom to know the battles to fight now and the ones that are for later. There are so many areas that need to be worked on, that it's hard to choose sometimes. I am one that wants it all fixed now, so having to choose and wait is hard.
Thanks for all your support this far!!! We've been home for almost 7 months. Enjoy a few pictures! :)
